Favorite New (To Me) Trope: Second Chance Romance

In today’s My Favorite Things video, I discuss a new (to me) favorite trope: second chance romance. I was never interested in writing about a couple who didn’t work out the first time—all that potential baggage and blame gave me a headache. But for Ash and Terra in Grave Promises, I’m so glad I gave them a second chance at love. The pair team up to exorcise a restless ghost haunting Ash’s house. Their chemistry, tension and witty banter was such a joy to write. In hindsight, I can’t imagine not resolving their unfinished business, and I see second chance romance in a fresh light.
