In today’s My Favorite Things video, I discuss my favorite secret. The heroine in Beyond the Next Star, Delaney, is abducted by aliens and mistaken as a pet. The hero, Torek, is a military commander of his planet, on medical leave as he deals with PTSD. To help him heal, he buys an animal companion… the heroine. But Delaney has a huge secret: she’s a woman, not an animal. She’s only pretending to be a pet because the one person who knew her secret was murdered to hide the devastating truth of her identity… and Delaney witnessed who did it. **cue ominous “dum dum dummm.”
