Office Inspiration

My plot, setting and characters are usually born when I’m on the go – hiking or swimming or working out. Doing physical activity waters my best ideas to life, but once sprouted, my office is the shelter where those ideas grow wild, are trimmed, and eventually, after all that nurturing, finally bloom. Who wouldn’t be inspired to work surrounded by books (the fruit of other writers’ labor) and little Benedict – the most tenacious member of our household, running over five miles every night?
