Perks Of Writing A Series

The fun part about writing a series is getting to dive deeper into side characters when they become main characters. We originally meet Phin and Dan (the main characters of ‘Til Death Don’t Us Part) in Fated By Fire. Phin is the responsible one at the costume party, pouring drinks and maintaining order. While Dan is the life of the party, dancing the night away in his pirate costume. We only meet them briefly in that story, so I had a blast expanding their backstories and personalities in ‘Til Death Don’t Us Part. As the responsible one, Phin feels guilty about how the party ended last year—in a fiery blaze. Literally. As the passionate one, Dan goes about wooing Phin in the worst way possible but the only way he knows how: with puns and goofing off.
